Endoscopia de columna

What is spinal endoscopic surgery?

Uniportal Endoscopy is a technique where we operate using a camera to see the exact location of the problem. We introduce special surgical devices through the camera to do the surgery and solving the pain. That camera is designed with a special light and water flow and we can visualize the inside of the spine in a 4K screen.

This high-tech approach ensures maximum safety, minimal bleeding, and almost zero muscle damage. It is similar to arthroscopy used in knees or shoulders but applied to the spine for stenosis and herniated discs both lumbar or cervical location.

What are the advantages?

It is currently the most minimally invasive technique available, leaving only a 1cm scar.

Patients refer no postoperative pain and they can start walking 4 hours after the surgery and often go home the same day. Most of the patients are able to work within the first 2 weeks after the surgery. We can record the surgery and give you some images if you like.

And what happens after the endoscopy?

The postoperative recovery period lasts 15-30 days. During this time, sports activities are restricted and driving is not permitted; however, walking and sitting are allowed, as absolute bed rest is not necessary.
After one month, if there is no pain, the patient can return to their normal activities.
